Sturgeon Foundation Memorial Fund
Make a special contribution on behalf of a family member, friend, or yourself, and help enhance the quality of life for our lodge residents. Contributions may also be made on behalf of a Sturgeon Foundation Lodge or for specific items desired by the residents. Donations are not restricted to "memorials" and are greatly appreciated and accepted at any time.
To arrange for a donation, please fill in the form provided (link below) or obtain a form from one of our lodges. Make the cheque payable to Sturgeon Foundation Memorial Fund and a tax receipt will be provided on donations of $20.00 or greater. The Foundation will promptly acknowledge your gift and if requested, an inscribed card will be sent to a designated person, family, or donor.
The Sturgeon Foundation Memorial Fund was established in 1995 to directly support life enhancing programs for lodge residents. This Fund will not be used for any operational or administrative purposes. The sole intent is to fund extra and special items desired by our lodge residents. Some of the items supported by this Fund in the past and which may not have been possible without all the generous donations throughout the years are as follows:
Pictures, artwork, computers, computer games, barbecues, patio furniture, lawn chairs, benches, patio awnings, sun rooms, gazebos, large screen TVs, popcorn carts, card tables, outdoor covered garden swings, digital cameras, video cameras, powered microphone systems, shade gardens, outdoor tent structures, Christmas lights and decorations, Deacon's bench, books, hairdressing chairs etc.
Some funds are designated annually to allow the Program Coordinators to promote new activities, purchase craft supplies, prizes, and assist with the costs for quality entertainment at lodge functions. "Memorial Boards" with name plaques in memory of residents, as well as maintenance for the residents' vans and buses have also utilized funds from the Memorial Fund.
The Sturgeon Foundation Memorial Fund is registered as a charitable organization incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta (Revenue Canada Charitable Registration No. 86634-7818-RR0001).
